Java Runtime Environment

This software allows you to run applications called "applets" that are written in the Java programming language. These applets allow you to play online games, chat with people, calculate your mortgage interest, and view images in 3D.

You will need to have the Sun Microsystems’ Java Runtime Environment (JRE) software installed on your computer in order for certain areas of D2L to function properly.

To install this software:

1. Go to www.java.com
2. On the page that appears, click on the red button marked "FREE JAVA DOWNLOAD"
3. Follow the on-screen instructions.

Important Tip: If you are unsure whether Java is already installed, click on the text link “Do I have Java?” located below the download button and follow the on-screen instructions.
