CNA Distributed Learning Distributed Learning

Overview

Distributed Learning Services offers a two-day workshop that will help increase your comfort level working with our Desire2Learn (D2L) learning management system. D2L provides a variety of tools that will enable you to:
  • Use technology to teach effectively, your way and at your own technological comfort level
  • Create, add, update and maintain course materials interactively through the Internet
  • Monitor student progress through your course
  • Assess student performance at any time during your course
  • Selectively release course content to students based on criteria that you set (e.g., when a certain level of learning is achieved, date, time, etc.)
In addition to the initial D2L training workshop, the dedicated team at Distributed Learning Services also provides training on advanced features (as needed) and ongoing technical support .  We help instructors gain the knowledge, skills and experience necessary to either supplement an existing course or to design an entirely new course.

Sample Two-Day Workshop Agenda

Upon completion of our two-day workshop, you will be able to develop and deliver a fully functional course in D2L.  This training will provide you with the skills to:
  • Communicating with students synchronously and asynchronously
  • Create course materials from your own subject files and make it available online
  • Create student assessment tools and interactive learning activities online
  • Manage student records
  • Organize and maintain student data, such as grade book items

D2L can either complement an existing on-campus course or provide you with the tools needed to design an entirely new course.  This workshop will help get you started.
