How do I find my exam date?
Some courses have online exams that are not invigilated; however, many do require supervision. To find out when your exam is to be written, please see the
online exam schedule which is posted on the Distributed Learning homepage. A list of campus contacts is also provided at the bottom of this page. You may contact the appropriate person to find out the room number, etc.
What time is my exam?
All exams are written at 7:00 pm, Newfoundland Standard Time (NST), 6:30 pm in most parts of Labrador. Exams written outside the province of Newfoundland and Labrador must be written as closely as possible to 7:00 pm NST. Special arrangements may be necessary in the case of online exams. Please contact DL for more information.
What if I have an exam conflict?
If you find you have two exams scheduled for the same time slot, or you have three (or more) exams scheduled within one 24-hour period, email
dlsdeferred@cna.nl.ca to report the conflict. You must provide a copy of your on-campus exam schedule from CNA (or applicable institution) as supporting documentation. The exam will be scheduled during deferred exams and you will be notified via email when the deferred schedule has been posted. You must report this conflict ASAP to avoid rescheduling delays.

Who do I contact to arrange a deferred exam?
ALL requests for deferred exams must be received
at least 7 days prior to your original scheduled exam date (unless extenuating circumstances apply such as bereavement or serious illness). An online

What do I do if it's bad weather?
All exams being written at a College campus will go ahead as scheduled unless the campus closes due to weather.
If a campus does close, exams at that campus will be rescheduled and students are advised to check the Exam Schedule for updates.
In the event the campus does not close, students are to use their own judgment as to whether they feel the weather/driving conditions are unfit. If they choose not to write the exam due to weather, they will be required to submit a Deferred Exam Request Form, citing weather conditions as the reason for not writing on the original date.
Students having their exams privately invigilated are to use their own judgment as to whether they feel the weather/driving conditions are unfit. If they choose not to write the exam due to weather, they will be required to submit a Deferred Exam Request Form, citing weather conditions as the reason for not writing on the original date.
The DL Service Coordinator will review each request individually. Students should be aware that the exam coordinator will be contacted to verify that in fact the weather and/or road conditions were unsuitable for travel.
Please refer to the Bad Weather policy for more information.
